Customer Personal information

This privacy statement is to inform you of what personal data we collect, why we collect it, what we do with it and your rights to it. This is in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We collect different information from our customers at different places in our websites. Here are listed the different ways by which we acquire your data as you interact with our websites and what we, and you, can do with your data.

On Placing an Order

We collect some (or all) of the following:

Name
Telephone no
Email address
Billing address & shipping address
Date (and time for a website order) the order was placed
Any notes that you provide us
IP address used to place the order

This is what we do with it:

For an order placed on our website, your credit card details are passed directly to our PayPal for processing and are not stored by our website
For an order placed at our shop (either in person or by telephone), your credit card details are captured directly by our card machine (and are used in accordance with the PCI DSS regulations that govern card data)
When we ship your order by the Royal Mail, we pass the delivery address to them so that they can deliver your order
When we ship your order by a courier, we pass the delivery address and phone number to them so that they can deliver your order
We destroy data when we are legally able to, for example we are obliged to keep records of our transaction details for seven years for tax / legal purposes

On making a website account

We collect some (or all) of the following:

Name
Telephone no
Email address
Billing address & shipping address

If you would like us to delete your account, please contact us and we will do this for you.

On joining our newsletter email list

We collect some (or all) of the following:

Name
Email address
IP address

If you would like us to remove your details from our newsletter email list, please contact us and we will do this for you.

You can join the newsletter email list by either opting ‘in’ by ticking the box when you place an order, or by requesting to join the list (found at the bottom of a website page).

On submitting the ‘Contact Us’ form

We collect some (or all) of the following:

Name
Email address
Telephone no
IP address
Message

We will delete this information when we no longer need it for business / legal / tax reasons or if you ask us to remove it.

Finally

We do not sell your personal data.

We have to share it in some circumstances, for example to process and deliver your order (as described above). Similarly, the data used to process your order may also be viewed by a professional in order for us to run our business (e.g. accountant, solicitor, insurance company). Our website host (wix.com) have access to all of the mechanics of making our website work and so they also have access to your data. We use MailChimp to generate our newsletters and consequently MailChimp also have access to the newsletter data. If we come into your physical shop for you to make a payment using a card, then your card details will be passed to our card payment processor (iZettle) in accordance with the PCI DSS rules. Finally we also have to co-operate with law enforcement and fraud prevention organisations.

If you would like to know what data we hold about you, please write to us (Emma Johnston Designs Ltd, Halfpenny House, 10 Albert Road, West Kirby, Wirral, CH48 0RS). You also have the right to correct your personal data and to have it deleted (except where we are legally obliged to keep it, e.g transaction data).
